I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset

Flip Flop Season

I cannot wait for my first full spring/summer in Erie. Yesterday was (as any stoner would say) awesome. Lauren, Eric, and I all worked together, and everywhere we went people were smiling ear to ear because of the weather. We caught one sign that said it was 73 degrees outside. And it was a muggy hot like it was today. Yesterday was pure sun. With the time change and the sun being out, the day flew by. Which is always good I guess when you are working.

After Eric dropped Lauren and I off at her car we decided to take a drive by the lake because it was so nice out. When we got there (all of 2 minutes later)we saw this:

...a bunch of people walking on the lake. Yes, walking on the lake. It was still frozen (over 18 inches of ice we were told) The top of the lake was slush though.

Of course Lauren and I could not resist and we join in the odd "walking on the lake" festivities. I think it was something that only happens one day of the year. Almost like its a weird Erie holiday.

But like I said before, I honestly cannot wait for this Spring/Summer. Especially since I literally live 5 minutes from the "beach" if you can call it that.

I guess I shouldn't get too excited over the whole "sun" thing. I think I heard that it's supposed to snow either tomorrow or friday. How messed up is that? 73 degrees one day, then snow two days after? (With a day of rain and frizzy hair in the middle)

This is random, but I really wish that people would get mine and Lauren's sense of humor, instead they think we're just weird. Which, I do admit, we often do weird things, but come on people. Yesterday we drove by Lauren's friend Dan's apartment so we stopped and put one of our Aflac brochures on his windshield. Since the brochure had my business card in it we jokingly highlighted my phone number on it before placing it on his windshield. We thought we were funny, especially after Lauren texted him and suggested that he go out to his car. Today I found out that after he found our brochure he called Lauren to find out if she was trying to hook me up with him. He thought that us leaving him the Aflac brochure with my business card on his car meant that I liked him. Um... ok, no. Boys are stupid. End.of.story.

Today was a fairly decent day at work. Besides driving all of the way to Edinboro for an enrollment only to find out that the HR person had called our office to reschedule (and Lauren and I were not made aware of this change)We managed to make 2 new business appointments and 1 direct appointment.

Ok, I think I'm going to get going. I'm sure that there is something else I should be doing right now...

A good day in the Aflac world

Today Lauren and I were on fire. We started our day off with a quick stop at Tim Hortons. I'm pretty sure that they know us by name there now. I did some shameless self-promoting (as in for Aflac) with a few of the guys that came in after us. Too bad they already had it, or we could have definitely written some business. We wrote an unexpected policy at one of our existing accounts. We scheduled 2 new enrollments, which means 2 new accounts. (Which means closer to hitting some of our bonuses and winning contests). You really can't beat working at Aflac, especially when it comes to bonuses. I don't know too many people that will get a $5,000, a trip to Georgia, a trip to Cancun, and another trip that hasn't even been decided yet, this year for simply going to work and doing their job. Yes, I think the bonuses outweigh the constant duck jokes and "AFLAAAAC" that we hear non-stop.

Today someone told me that I have pretty, big brown eyes. I'm pretty sure that he meant it as a compliment, but I don't think that you should say "big" in any type of compliment. Lets think about it, "you have a pretty, big nose", nope, not a compliment. "You have a pretty, big butt", still not a compliment. "You have a pretty, big mole on the side of your face". Yeah, definitely not. So here's that PSA for all of you out there, if you are going to compliment someone on something leave out the words "big" or "little", because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to hear about having pretty little eyes either.

And anyways, I don't think my eyes are that big...

... ok, maybe they are, but I don't need you pointing it out! haha.

I got a new computer today. I ordered it last Monday and the lovely UPS guy, who is probably about a foot shorter than me, delivered it today. $2700 for a new computer that isn't even a mac. It was a shame, and it broke my heart to have to get a computer that expensive without photobooth and isight built in. But I guess the Aflac system has to be pretty solid and safe. We don't need social security numbers leaking out all over the place. I'm pretty sure Mike would realize it though, if he started getting a bill from Victoria's Secret. So right now I have an iBook, a toughbook, and a Lifebook in my room. Could I be any more of a dork?

I have been getting virb friend requests like crazy. It's weird, there are only like 2 people on my friends list on there that are actually people that I talk to. I do feel semi-pressured into adding all of the randoms just because virb is so new, and it kinda needs the networks in order to grow. So if you're a random friend on my virb account and we never talk, expect to be deleted once virb really takes off and I can replace you with people that can actually pronounce my last name.

I don't know if I have said this in this blog yet or not. But I love my neighbors Emily,Trevor, and Mark. Now, if we could only meet the people who live on the first floor we could be just like Mr. Roger's neighborhood.

Playtime

Today Lauren and I met at her place for work. She has an office downstairs that we can work out of. But she also has her mother come over to help watch the kids while we work because we're always on the phone or running to and from appointments/presentations/enrollments.

When I got there today she told me that her mom was running late, which was absolutely not a problem with me. It meant playing with her two adorable kids, Emily who is almost 3 and Bryce who just turned 1. Most of you know that I absolutely love kids and for some odd reason, they all seem to like me too. It's always been like that, I can't explain it.

But anyways, having kids is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I think because I've seen so many of my friends and family members have children lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to find a man next month and start popping out babies. But I cannot wait to be a mom. And I honestly do not think that I would ever be able to seriously date a guy that does not want to have children.

Today at work we actually got a lot done for only working for a few hours. We had an employer presentation, which will turn into a new account. And we also scheduled a new employer presentation which would be a HUGE group to get. Hopefully Lauren and I can charm our way into that account.

Yesterday I actually got this email from my boss that made my day.
"Awesome. It's so nice to know that I can count on you. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. You are going to be a superstar with this company. I'm so proud of both you and Lauren. Besides you both rocking. I really like you guys as people. Believe me that always doesn't go hand in hand."

It reminds me of the emails that I would always get from Coach Anthony. (Which I have saved over the years). Everyone needs a little pick up and that email that I got will be that for me for a while...

Time for bed?
