I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset

I know...

I know I know I know, and I'm sorry. I've been getting yelled at lately because I haven't been keeping up with my blog.

So what has happened in the last 3 weeks?

Well...

I went to Pittsburgh/Slippery Rock/IUP one weekend. It was a great time in Slip. I got to do some much needed catching up with Kristie and the boys. It was weird though, it was the first time that I have been out with the boys since they turned 21. (those babies). I miss them, all of them. I miss Slippery Rock, and cannot get over the fact that its been a year since I graduated there. It is nice every time that I go back. Especially when I get to go to a track meet and meet up with Renatta and Jill (but I do wish Miss Alison could have been there also). And Ginger Hill is always a good time. Lots of good memories there, especially memories from my last semester at SRU. Last night Boston told me that it just isnt the same without some of us there. That he had more fun last year than this year. Although I'm pretty sure that he said it just to flatter me (us), its still nice to know that I left a mark in Slip.

I also turned 23 recently. Weird, yes. I'm old. Twenty-freaking-three. Where did the last 2 years go? Seriously, I don't think its possible that my 21st birthday was 2 years ago. Our secret mission was 2 years ago? Our Hawaiian party was 2 years ago? Oh my gosh. I am old. My parent's always warned me that time flies when you get out of school, and they were not lying. Not one bit.

I did have a complete blast on my birthday. Even though we had to work, and that included going to a Funeral Home (where everyone wants to be on their birthday). Lauren spoiled me and took me to get my nails done and then tanning. Then later that night I got ready...

... and I met up with most of my favorite people, Autumn, Lauren, and my neighbors at Plymouth for some birthday drinks. I'm pretty sure that we were thisclose to getting kicked out of Plymouth for pouring salt everywhere (including everyone's heads) Yes, we are a mature group.
... I think Lauren is putting something in my hair at that very moment.

Thanks to everyone who called / texted / im'd / came out with me / sent cards on my birthday. I really do have some awesome people in my life.

Work has been going well. Lauren and I have finally "grown a pair". We've started working smarter, instead of harder. (Even though we're still working pretty darn hard) Plus, we're so damn charming that people just can't resist us (haha!?!) Our state is having a pretty big contest this quarter, and Lauren and I are both competitors, so we're determined to win at least one part of the contest, if not the whole thing. We hate losing, and by working our butts off to win the contest we'll get more accounts anyways, so its always a good way to get us motivated. So far we have 7/10 appointments that we need to make for the first part of the contest, and we still have 2 weeks left to make the other three appointments, no prob. bob.

Eric is going to be moving into my apartment complex in a month or so. He's getting a single room basement apartment. We went and checked them out the other day and its kind of hard to see what they are going to look like because right now they are all being put together, but I'm pretty sure that its just going to be a small version of my apartment. I'm happy for him. This is going to be his first apartment. Well, he had one when he was in school, but thats different. This is all him, he's a grown up now, with a real job and soon a place of his own. Again, we're all getting old.

... Ok, I just got off of the phone with Lauren, and she was out making us some more appointments when she was at Buffalo Wild Wings. Nice work, troubleshoot.

I need to use this weekend to study for my life license test. There is way too much money in life insurance to pass up just because I don't want to take another test. So please send me some encouragement (or some nasty texts telling me to get to it)

This month has the potential to be an extremely busy one. Lauren and I will hopefully find ourselves running around to 20+ branches of FNB, and also going to Vermont for work. Hopefully gas decides to go down instead of up.

I think that is enough rambling to get a little caught up. If not, I'm sorry, but if there's something that you really want to know or hear about, don't be afraid to ask. I don't bite (most of the time)

Flip Flop Season

I cannot wait for my first full spring/summer in Erie. Yesterday was (as any stoner would say) awesome. Lauren, Eric, and I all worked together, and everywhere we went people were smiling ear to ear because of the weather. We caught one sign that said it was 73 degrees outside. And it was a muggy hot like it was today. Yesterday was pure sun. With the time change and the sun being out, the day flew by. Which is always good I guess when you are working.

After Eric dropped Lauren and I off at her car we decided to take a drive by the lake because it was so nice out. When we got there (all of 2 minutes later)we saw this:

...a bunch of people walking on the lake. Yes, walking on the lake. It was still frozen (over 18 inches of ice we were told) The top of the lake was slush though.

Of course Lauren and I could not resist and we join in the odd "walking on the lake" festivities. I think it was something that only happens one day of the year. Almost like its a weird Erie holiday.

But like I said before, I honestly cannot wait for this Spring/Summer. Especially since I literally live 5 minutes from the "beach" if you can call it that.

I guess I shouldn't get too excited over the whole "sun" thing. I think I heard that it's supposed to snow either tomorrow or friday. How messed up is that? 73 degrees one day, then snow two days after? (With a day of rain and frizzy hair in the middle)

This is random, but I really wish that people would get mine and Lauren's sense of humor, instead they think we're just weird. Which, I do admit, we often do weird things, but come on people. Yesterday we drove by Lauren's friend Dan's apartment so we stopped and put one of our Aflac brochures on his windshield. Since the brochure had my business card in it we jokingly highlighted my phone number on it before placing it on his windshield. We thought we were funny, especially after Lauren texted him and suggested that he go out to his car. Today I found out that after he found our brochure he called Lauren to find out if she was trying to hook me up with him. He thought that us leaving him the Aflac brochure with my business card on his car meant that I liked him. Um... ok, no. Boys are stupid. End.of.story.

Today was a fairly decent day at work. Besides driving all of the way to Edinboro for an enrollment only to find out that the HR person had called our office to reschedule (and Lauren and I were not made aware of this change)We managed to make 2 new business appointments and 1 direct appointment.

Ok, I think I'm going to get going. I'm sure that there is something else I should be doing right now...

Playtime

Today Lauren and I met at her place for work. She has an office downstairs that we can work out of. But she also has her mother come over to help watch the kids while we work because we're always on the phone or running to and from appointments/presentations/enrollments.

When I got there today she told me that her mom was running late, which was absolutely not a problem with me. It meant playing with her two adorable kids, Emily who is almost 3 and Bryce who just turned 1. Most of you know that I absolutely love kids and for some odd reason, they all seem to like me too. It's always been like that, I can't explain it.

But anyways, having kids is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I think because I've seen so many of my friends and family members have children lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to find a man next month and start popping out babies. But I cannot wait to be a mom. And I honestly do not think that I would ever be able to seriously date a guy that does not want to have children.

Today at work we actually got a lot done for only working for a few hours. We had an employer presentation, which will turn into a new account. And we also scheduled a new employer presentation which would be a HUGE group to get. Hopefully Lauren and I can charm our way into that account.

Yesterday I actually got this email from my boss that made my day.
"Awesome. It's so nice to know that I can count on you. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. You are going to be a superstar with this company. I'm so proud of both you and Lauren. Besides you both rocking. I really like you guys as people. Believe me that always doesn't go hand in hand."

It reminds me of the emails that I would always get from Coach Anthony. (Which I have saved over the years). Everyone needs a little pick up and that email that I got will be that for me for a while...

Time for bed?
