Don't be a jerk

If you set an appointment with someone either keep the appointment or call and cancel. Don't just not show up. It's very possible that whoever you had the apointment with arranged their whole day around your meeting, ok?

Playtime

Today Lauren and I met at her place for work. She has an office downstairs that we can work out of. But she also has her mother come over to help watch the kids while we work because we're always on the phone or running to and from appointments/presentations/enrollments.

When I got there today she told me that her mom was running late, which was absolutely not a problem with me. It meant playing with her two adorable kids, Emily who is almost 3 and Bryce who just turned 1. Most of you know that I absolutely love kids and for some odd reason, they all seem to like me too. It's always been like that, I can't explain it.

But anyways, having kids is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I think because I've seen so many of my friends and family members have children lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to find a man next month and start popping out babies. But I cannot wait to be a mom. And I honestly do not think that I would ever be able to seriously date a guy that does not want to have children.

Today at work we actually got a lot done for only working for a few hours. We had an employer presentation, which will turn into a new account. And we also scheduled a new employer presentation which would be a HUGE group to get. Hopefully Lauren and I can charm our way into that account.

Yesterday I actually got this email from my boss that made my day.
"Awesome. It's so nice to know that I can count on you. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. You are going to be a superstar with this company. I'm so proud of both you and Lauren. Besides you both rocking. I really like you guys as people. Believe me that always doesn't go hand in hand."

It reminds me of the emails that I would always get from Coach Anthony. (Which I have saved over the years). Everyone needs a little pick up and that email that I got will be that for me for a while...

Time for bed?

How old am I?

It's a weird thing to realize that you're growing up. There have been several things in the past few months that have made me think that maybe I am growing up. But one thing that makes me feel old is seeing clips of high school sports on the news and not knowing a single person that is playing. And not even being able to say "oh yeah, thats Steph's younger brother". Even all of the younger siblings have graduated. I was on myspace the other day and found the profiles of two kids that I used to babysit for. One is now 19 and the other 17. How weird is that? My friends and I are now at a point where we can no longer say that a high school football player is hot (even though I'm not the one that needs to worry about that) without feeling like a perve.

That's random, I know, but when I watch the news I force myself to think about things other than the war, car accidents, and a duck that just wont die.

Today I was moving a few things around in my room to see if I wanted to completely re-arrange my room or not. (I get bored easily) And while I was doing so I found 8 hair ties in the corner where my bed was. It took me almost a 1/2 hour to realize how they all got there. I knew that I hadn't been secretly putting them there. It wasn't until I caught Ryme in the act that I realized how all of my missing hair ties had ended up under my bed.

Our cats are just like little kids. You know how little kids get a nice present and instead of wanting to play with the present they are more interested in the box. The cats are the same way. They have a ton of those little rattle balls that I'm constantly stepping on, but instead they would like to play with hair ties, pens, and wrappers. I wish I could be so easily amused.

Has everyone heard about Groovr? Probably not because its really new. But you should probably go and check it out. Especially if you are one of those constant away message checkers. And I know that most of you are. The site has you put in your cell phone number and then you are able to text/email the site to update where you are. If you are at the same location as one of your friends it lets you know who all is there. You can also send pictures to the site to go straight to your profile and the location where you sent them from. It might sound too geeky for most of you, but you might as well check it out while you're playing on the computer instead of doing your (home)work.

I think its time for me to make some tea and cuddle up under my blankets... I told you I was getting old...

Starting Fresh

I don't know how it happened, but today I stumbled upon my old blog The last post was all the way back in May, a week before college graduation. Instead of doing one of my infamous "I know I suck at updating" blogs, I've decided to start fresh. I mean, in all honesty, that is what I did after graduating.

I really will try to update this regularly. Not only because it was nice too look back through my old blog and see some of the comments that others made, but also because there's something completely relaxing about blogging. And, I must admit, it makes me feel very Carrie Bradshaw-ish.

That's all for the awkard first entry. Expect a real entry tonight or tomorrow sometime.
